Craney Island Bulkhead Replacement

Precon Marine Inc. has been awarded the Craney Island Bulkhead Replacement Project by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. All existing bulkhead and fender systems will be replaced with a new steel sheet pile bulkhead, tie-back system, and fender system. The new bulkhead will be 2 feet higher than the currently existing sheet pile bulkhead and will be approximately 307 feet long with short returns on each end. The replacement will be done in two seperate stages, leaving one half of the bulkhead available for use at all times during construction. The 1.8 million dollar undertaking will begin in July 2009.
