Backbone Infrastructure - Steel Sheet Pile and Concrete Pump Station 253 & 254
Edinburgh Subdivision, Chesapeake, Virginia
Edinburgh, a 658-acre development of homes, shops and offices south of Great Bridge promises to be one of the largest developments in the city’s history. Owned by Precon Development Corporation, the Edinburgh project plans call for 258 executive-style homes and permits have been issued by the city for sewer, road and other infrastructure constructions.
Precon Marine, Inc. was awarded the subcontract to work on the Backbone Infrastructure - Pump Stations 254 & 253 portion of the project.
Precon Marine’s work on Pump Station 254 consisted of providing and installing the sheet pile cofferdam system, excavating inside the cofferdam, placing the bedding stone, and then backfilling and cofferdam removal after the concrete was competed.
Precon Marine’s work on Pump Station 253 was the same as above with the addition of all the concrete work for the structure.
The project was completed in October 2003.
